What the number means.
These readings use the US AQI scale, capped at 500. Higher is worse. India’s CPCB scale shares the 0–500 range but uses different breakpoints, so a CPCB app can show a different number for the same air. WHO's annual guideline for PM2.5 is 5 µg/m³, and Delhi NCR routinely sits at 10–30× that level.
